GP Originals is a competitive two-stroke, post-classic race series for motorcycles from the 1970s to early-80s; our series is the only place to race these iconic machines on a dedicated grid. We only run two classifications of machine in our races – 250cc and 350cc and all must be two-stroke, period spec Grand Prix motorcycles. In addition to their main class, riders over the age of 55 compete for the Masters title irrespective of cc. We all run the same kind of treaded tyres, no wets, no warmers.
Our prize fund is second to none. Cash rewards go down to 5th spot in both 250 and 350, we have £50 cash for our pole positions in both classes, another £50 each for the fastest race laps of the weekend. Our Masters receive cash down to 3rd in addition to any winnings in their main class. Further down the field there’s two £50 vouchers for bodywork and free spark plugs. Every rider throughout the field can access Start Money and a wealth of early entry rewards.
The mighty TZ350 was a turning point for the Grand Prix motorcycle scene and two-strokes ruled the roost for several decades to follow. The TZ250L then paved the way for 250s to take over from it’s 350cc cousin. This period also enjoyed flamboyant fashion and innovative music and our team at GP Originals have produced our own bespoke, professionally produced merchandise to reflect on this iconic era.
